In the beginning is Zep Tepi, which means the First Time.
My image of Zep Tepi is of the sunlight kindling in the heart of the blue lotus, the first dawn, the quintessential dawn. When I do my rituals, I light a candle in the heart of a holder shaped like the lotus, and the light breathes into the darkness as Zep Tepi.
Ritual is not a re-enactment, not a hearkening to this past, the first moment, the initiation of reality: Zep Tepi is always with us, is implicit in all things we do. In Zep Tepi, all things are in alignment, everything is ma'at, and when we reach that place and see the sun kindle, we too are in alignment, all things are in alignment, ma'at is maintained, ma'at is restored.
This is not a fallen world: Eden is everywhere, there for the reaching. Zep Tepi is not a lost time, it is every time, all time, all things are implicit in it, and because we exist, we can reach to the foundations of existence.
I quote Thorn Coyle now: "As Hers was the first act of creation, God Herself – the Star Goddess – is present in all of creation."
The immanence of the Star Goddess is the immanence of Zep Tepi -- there for the reaching, there for the asking, only needing alignment with the true breath to reach. Now is a part of the beginning; the beginning is always reachable now.
The sun in the heart of the lotus is a dancing star.
